Trying to determine if J. J. Davis, who I have listed as John J, is the same Hood Co resident as James Jefferson Davis listed as a Hood Co Confederate soldier - "Co B Roper's Arkansas Regmt Confederate States Army CIVIL WAR / Rej". I know my J. J. Davis was in Hood Co 1900 Census report and would have been in Ark around time of Civil War due to the birth of a child (Thomas B. Davis b. abt 1869) in Ark. Could someone help me with this or even point me in the direction to find more info on the J. J. listed on Hood Co site as Confed. soldier in order to match or not. My J. J. had a daughter Molly who married Milt Henslee of Hood Co and in 1900 his son Joe M. Davis was also in Hood Co as well as a daughter from a previous marriage S. J. or J. S. (the J. may possibly be for Josie??)as is listed both ways; she married Dennis Woodward. Per census their children were Cora Bertie born 1891 & "Sister" b. 1893. I track Molly and Joe to Taylor Co along with their sister/my grt gm Jennie!
Davis Cogburn, but cannot locate J. J. nor the Woodwards following 1900 census. Thank you for any suggestions at all, Sandra
