Hi,

I recently ran across a reference, in another genealogist's work, to a
marriage which reportedly occurred in Childress County on November 4, 1889.
I don't know the source of their information, but I am interested in that
marriage, and possibly others which occurred 1889-1890. Can anyone on the
list tell me:

1) do the Childress County marriage records in the county courthouse date
back to November of 1889, and

2) if the marriage records for the period 1889-1890 still exist, are they
available anywhere other than in the courthouse (published book, internet,
microfilm, etc.)? I've checked with the LDS Family History Library at Salt
Lake City, and with the Texas State Library. Neither of them seems to have
microfilmed county records for Childress County.

3) if the marriage records for the period 1889-1890 still exist in the
courthouse, does anyone on the list do marriage record lookups (for a fee,
perhaps)? I'm looking for marriages of:

Nancy Ellen BREWER to Reece BOWEN (possibly February of 1890)
Tennessee Alabama BREWER to Albert Sidney Johnson LOCKHART (probably
November 4, 1889)
