RESEARCH IN BOWIE COUNTY, TX

The New Boston public library has a genealogy section. The library has the
county records (birth, death, marriage, probate, school census from 1928,
civil court records) on microfilm. Contact for the New Boston Genealogical
Society is Anna Brett (). She said that the 1910-1920
newspapers are at the library at the Texarkana College.

New Boston Courthouse - Best to do research on Tuesday thru Thursday.

The Texarkana Public Library has a genealogy section.

Also - 600 W. 3rd - 903/794-2149

I am not sure which of those addresses is right for the library with the
genealogy collection.

The Truman Arnold Library at the Texarkana College has old Texarkana
newspapers back to 1886. They may have the New Boston newspaper also.

Dekalb, TX has a museum open on Friday and Saturday afternoons.

There is a Family History Center in Texarkana on Moores Lane. Open on
Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9PM and Friday and Saturday from 9AM to 5PM.
Edith and Curtis Terrell are very helpful there.

Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives
Old Washington Historic State Park
Washington, AR

Washington is about 35 miles northeast of Texarkana. This is an independent
archives. One source said that this facility has a lot of information on
Bowie County.

Good luck on your research!
