It definitely sounds like some misspelling is going on here. I am familiar
with some of these Tolles names which are given here. I will check my files
and get back to you. I definitely recognize some of these given names, so
it is highly likely that you are part of my line somewhere. Also the fact
that you couldn't find it in the Tolles book, doesn't mean they don't fit in
there...the book is not all inclusive. In the Tolles family they often
duplicated names. We have multiples of such names as Henry's, Jared's,
Thankfuls, Daniels, etc.

Thank you for your research. Yes this is my Calvin Crary. I have extensive
info on Calvin and his descendents, of which I am one. But my "brick wall"
is to find out more about his parents. When I applied for DAR some years ago
under the name Crary, I was unable to do so because according to any info
they had could not trace Calvin's parents to the names in Calvin's daughter
Emma's Bible. "mother Lovica Tolles" and Jabeth Crary grandgather" These
are just notes unfortunately, including crossouts, that one has to
interpret the best one can. I doubt that Emma ever realized someday anyone
would be trying to use it to trace ancestry. There is also "Aunt Abbagall
Tolles", Uncle Lewis, Alva,Esbin, Titus Tolles. Have spent a great deal of
time looking through the dates and families some of these names appear in
Tolles in America, and Rootsweb.com.
Calvin named one of his daughters from his second marriage to Eunice
Mann,. Lavisa/Lovica
That is all I have to go on. I have checked thoroughly and also
corresponded with William Tolles "Tolles in America". He is of the opinion
they belong to families not yet traced out.
