I've seen both Miss and Mrs. before a bride's name that turned out to be
wrong. It's almost whatever the recorder decides to write down as much as
what her prior marital history actual was.

I've looked a bit at Warren County Phillips but not actually studied them
and can't make any informed comment. Cousins of my Cannon County Fowlers,
including Lewis Claiborne Fowler who earlier lived in Bedford County, went
to Caldwell and Christian Counties, Kentucky. My Jacob B. Fowler lived
briefly with that family twice - in 1866 and 1900. Much of my information
on the Kentucky Fowlers came from a great grandson of Patton/Patten/Patent
Fowler who lived in Christian County, Kentucky. But, I haven't found any
record of any of my Phillips family ever living in Kentucky.

Patton Fowler's son, George H. Fowler ran a dairy in Crawford County,
Arkansas. He was murdered there in June 1897. George was the grandfather
of the man who sent the information on Patton/Patent Fowler of Cannon
County, Tennessee and of Claibourne and Christian Counties, Kentucky. In
that family, Patton Fowler was generally called "Old Pat". It sounded
almost like these might be the same man, but apparently not.

My Jacob B. Fowler, aged 76 on 23 June 1900, was listed in Household
299-304 of Magisterial District 7 of Christian County, Kentucky in the
home of David E. and Mary Fowler, listed as an uncle, although actually
her would have had to be a cousin of David's father.
