All information I have at my home is for Benton County from 1836 to 1930 census. I have the two Family Historys of Benton County and marriage records index and Cemetery book. If your people were born in 1818, then the records would be in Humphrey's County. What is now Benton County was the Western part of Humphrey's County until 1836. There were settlers on the West side of the Tennessee river as early as 1810, even though the Jackson Purchse which was the purchase of the western part of TN and some of KY and MS from the Chickasaw Indians. Unfortunately, most of the early records for this part of the land was burned when the Court House in Humphrey's County burned during the Civil War. Some records are now being restored in Humphrey's County, so you may want to contact someone on the Humphrey's County Board.
