re Treatment of England & Wales GRO Index Quarters in dates.

My thanks to Robin, Lorna, David and Mike for helpful advice.

It seems there is no easy or perfect answer.

My wish for TMG ver 5 would be for acceptance by TMG of input forms such as
'Q1 1856', and 'Mar Q 1856', with a sort date either at the mid-point of the
quarter, or at the last day of the quarter. The input form should then lend
itself to easy translation into a reasonable sentence for output purposes.

Are there any other suggestions, or knowledge or how (if at all) this is
treated by other programs?
