Subject: [THRIFT] William Thrift Of Newberry, SC

Good Afternoon.
I joined the list today in hopes of finding a little more information on my
William of Newberry. Just yesterday I came across the 1880 census in Augusta,
Richmond Co., GA for a Robert Thrift at 37 in his HH is his brother named
Mason who is 25 and at home due to an enlargement of the heart. Is this the
Mason who was the youngest son and child of William and Rebecca?
Now I ask myself if the 16 year old Robert on Newberry 1860 in HH of Michael
Epps - could his name be Robert Allen Thrift?
Spencer Thrift, Wm & Rebecca's son is in Augusta, Richmond County, GA. I
have him documented.
Then on the 1870 Augusta, Richmond Co., GA census for a Rebecca Alphman 60
and born SC. That name is very difficult to read but is how ancestry has
transcribed it. This appears to be a boarding house or rental property and
Rebecca's group consists of 4 young working women, Martha Thrift 21, born SC, Sarah
Alphman 19, born SC, Childonia Olive 24, born SC, Amanda Kirkland 25 born SC,
and one lone male named William Alphman. I think his age is 10 but it could
just as well be 70.
Thanks so much from Lexington County, SC. Terry
