Happy New Year to everyone on the Threlkeld mailing list.

I'm posting a few obituaries I've located recently in the hope that one
might be of interest to someone here. I have no association with the
individuals or families mentioned, so cannot assist with any questions or
further detail beyond the reference given. The obituaries are arranged
newest first:


Charles F. Threlkeld

Georgia, The Valdosta Daily Times, 25 November 2006

Charles F. Threlkeld, 74, of Valdosta died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at South
Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Florida National Cemetery in
Bushnell, Fla. Condolences to the family may be made online at Carson McLane Funeral Home.


Luvenia "Lu" Threlkeld

South Carolina, The Beaufort Gazette, 21 October 2006

SALUDA Luvenia Lou Beck Threlkeld, 71, of 2212 Columbia Hwy., died
Wednesday, October 18, 2006, in Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Clearwater, GA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd A. Beck and the
late Ruby Hill Beck Hughes. Mrs. Threlkeld had retired from Trelkco
Incorporation and was a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Jack Newton of Myrtle Beach; two stepsons, Dwayne
Threlkeld and Travis Threlkeld, both of Ninety Six; three stepdaughters,
Gaynell Cavender, Rene Threlkeld and Christy Threlkeld, all of Ninety Six; a
granddaughter, Emily Newton of Myrtle Beach; and a cousin and caretaker,
Ernestine Matthews of Saluda.

A brother, George Edward Beck of Buffalo, NY, preceded Mrs. Threlkeld in
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday evening at Ramey
Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Cleaves
Matthews Cemetery with Rev. Tom Cartledge officiating.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander
Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.


Mary K. "Kathy" Threlkeld

Missouri, The Quincy Herald-Whig, 2 September 2006

HANNIBAL, Mo. Mary K. "Kathy" Threlkeld, 61, of Hannibal, died Aug. 31,
2006, in the Luther Manor Nursing Center, Hannibal. Services will be at 10
a.m. Tuesday in IOOF Cemetery, Hunnewell. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday
in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal.


Chester Threlkeld

Chester Eugene Threlkeld, 69, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006. He
had been employed by Arkansas Oak in Sheridan and was retired from May
Construction in Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Harriett Threlkeld, and
brother Travis Threlkeld.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home; daughters Diane Lamb and
husband Roy of Sheridan, Sydney Eggers of Cabot, and Betsy Bracas and
husband Bill of Spring, Texas; son Randy Threlkeld and wife Shirley of
Prattsville; stepdaughter Patty Vinyard and husband Eddie of Mabelvale;
stepson Mike Bateman of Sheridan; sister Joyce Beck of Sheridan; brother Rex
Threlkeld of Sheridan; nine grandchildren, one adopted granddaughter, and
eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 25, at the Memorial Gardens Funeral
Home chapel in Sheridan. Burial followed at Bethel Cane Creek Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Arkansas Children's
Hospital Foundation.

Arrangements were by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan.


Donald H. Threlkeld

Memorial services for LTC (Ret.) Donald H. Threlkeld will be held July 20,
2006, at Martin Funeral Home, Clanton, AL, at 11 a.m.

Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m.-11 a.m.

Mr. Threlkeld passed away on July 17, 2006, after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Carmichael Threlkeld; a brother, Dr.
William Albert Threlkeld Jr. of Valdosta and three children, Donna Threlkeld
Velasquez (Daniel), Robert Drew Threlkeld (Rebecca), Albert Howell Threlkeld
(Lori), and five grandchildren, Ian Velasquez, Leslie Threlkeld, Drew
Threlkeld, Ana Threlkeld and Kristen Threlkeld.

Mr. Threlkeld was born November 7, 1930, in Albany, GA, to the late Neva
Caraway Threlkeld and Albert Howell Threlkeld.

Mr. Threlkeld served in the United States Army to include a tour of duty in
the Republic of Vietnam. He retired as a Lt. Colonel after a distinguished
career of twenty two years. Upon departure from the service, he was employed
at Troy State University in Montgomery as a professor and after 20 years
retired as Vice-President of Institutional Research and Development.

The family requests no flowers and that donations be made to: The Myositis

Rachel Lee Threlkeld

Rachel Lee Threlkeld McCann, 80, of Bauxite died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006.

She was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Kingsland to John and Sadie Lowry Threlkeld.

Mrs. McCann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Troy
McCann; seven brothers, John, Clarence, Roy, Columbus, Bill, Tipp and
Sidney; two daughters, Ruthie Mae and Brenda Gayle; and one grandson,
Bradley McCann.

Survivors include one son, Edward McCann and wife Phyllis of Bauxite; three
grandchildren, Edward Walker of Jacksonville, Mary Hutchison and husband
Jason of Jacksons Gap, Ala., and Troy McCann and wife Joan of Dallas; six
great-grandchildren, Grace, Victoria, Sara, Kaitlin, Rylee and Ryann; two
sisters, Aleese Goins and husband Clomer of Malvern and Juanita Crow of
Bryant; one sister-in-law, Pauline Threlkeld of Benton; numerous nieces and

Family comments: We would like to thank Dr. Edward Hill and the people at
Saline County Hospice for their tender loving care, not only to her, but her
family. A special thanks to all the hospice nurses and aides, especially
Fran, Kristi, Lynn and Troy, at the end of her life. She loved her family
dearly. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Donations for her
burial may be made to Ashby Funeral Home.

Curtis Weldon Threlkeld, 76, of Little Rock formerly of Benton died Tuesday,
June 7, 2005.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna MacLaughlan. Survivors include
his wife, Nancy Threlkeld; children, Brenda Risk, Marsha McCloud, Johnny
Threlkeld and Linda Ferguson; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Huson Funeral Home in
Little Rock.

Mary Lee "Memmy" Threlkeld, 77, of Bogota, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at
Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a retired factory worker and a
member of Broadmoor Church of Christ. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at
Broadmoor Church of Christ with Brother Wilford Mobley officiating. Burial
will be in New Haven Cemetery.
