Hello,
I am researching my family tree for two reasons. The first is that I really want to have a complete family tree. The second is that I am an anthropology grad student who is working on a museum exhibit that discusses DNA and genealogy. My mother was Darlene Amidon married to Walter Martin, Her parents were Annette LaBranche who married Merton Amidon and my grandmother's parents were Joseph Issac LaBranche and Selina or Celina Thibault (thibult). I know that Selina (sp) is from Canada (1880 census) but I am not sure where in Canada but due to the fact that my mother and I grew up in Northern Vermont and my Grandmother spoke french I assume that Selina was from Quebec.
FYI if any one who reads this posting is actually related related to Selina and my self via female lines that your mitochondrial DNA results are that you are from the clan Helena and if you want more information Isugest reading a book by Brian Sykes called "The Seven Daughters of Eve"
Thank You for your help
Penny
