I need information on John THAMES born c.1800 in North Carolina; died January 1865 in Chilton County, Alabama; buried Old Rocky Mount Cemetery in an unmarked grave which received a tombstone in 2002. John THAMES married Rutha Banks COBB 20 December 1820 in Cahawba (now Bibb) County, Alabama. They had seventeen children.

The parents of both John THAMES and Rutha COBB are unknown--brick walls that Lee Ponder said he would send me a case of sledge hammers to break down! Can anyone else offer help?
