Judy,
I had my Y-DNA test done in the infancy of the Family Tree DNA company years
ago and in the ensuing years I have had many hundreds of 23 and 24 out of 25
marker matches. But never a perfect one until recently.
I talked my Dad's brother into having the 67 marker test done and lo &
behold, his 25-marker result came back as the first perfect match to me
(which one would expect!)
My paternal immigrant ancestor from Scotland & Northern Ireland, came to
America just prior to the American Revolution and I strongly suspect the
original spelling of my surname is actually COWAN.
To that end, I have indeed had 2 men with the Cowan surname come back with
23 out of 25 marker match results to me. One whose roots are in Northern
Ireland!
