Perhaps the good Bishop of Glasgow's curse might equally have applied to a
future generation of Reivers, uprooted from their homelands and settled in
the parish of Killead in County Antrim, as somebody once described them.
"hard-headed, small-hearted, tight fisted, Killead men. When the parish was
planted with Galloway reivers the job was thoroughly done. Over they came in
flocks from the arid sheep tracks of Nithsdale to the fat land of the
confiscated O'Neils."
And here's me thinking I was always rather a big-hearted kind of person.
