I have Morrison family first in Frederick, MD, then in what became
My ancestors were brothers James and Daniel Morrison, born circa 1730,
whose children, Agnes and James M, first cousins, married and their
daughter Jane married Henry Ingman. From Westernport, Allegany, MD
their descendants Agnes Nancy Ingman who married James Burns, Sr.
moved west to Fairmont in what became Marion County, WV.
"James Morrison, Sr and Daniel Morrison were brothers who came from
Ireland to Alexandria, Virginia. Their children Agnes and James M were
first cousins who married.
James came to Frederick Co, Maryland in 1767 where he bought part of
'Frenchman’s Purchase,' 200 acres"
"Hoye's Pioneer Families of Garrett County" compiled by Garrett County
Historical Society, 1988 copied at Fiske Genealogy Library, Seattle, WA
Also printed in:
Mountain Democrat June 16, 1938: Garrett County History of Pioneer
Families, The Morrison and Ingman Families by Charles E Hoye, CXI
Western Port and The Green Glades Tavern.
Daniel married Susannah and died in Alexandria, VA 1764, and another
Daniel Morrison died 1770 in Frederick Co, MD. This second Daniel is
listed as a leader in the Revolution.

James Morrison, Sr married Mary and left a will dated 17 Dec 1791 in
Frederick, MD naming 5 sons and 3 daughters: John, James, William,
Agnes, Mary, David, Samuel, and Sidney (female).
I am looking for any more information on James and Daniel, probably
Scots Irish, who came from Ireland to Virginia about 1750.
There is a James Morrison listed on the Passenger and Immigration List
index 2989 p 168 in 1716, as coming to Virginia. He may be related,
may even be the father of James and Daniel.
Any help on these families would be greatly appreciated.
