Hi folks, below is a message from the Irish Family History Foundation. It has been placing on line (for free) indexes to existent Irish records, largely church records. To view the actual transcription, you pay a fee. Before this the material was largely only available in Ireland unless the parish was filmed by LDS. Some are and some are indexed in IGI.

For more information, find the URL below and click on it and read for more information than is currently stored in my few remaining braincells.

This service (in my opinion) is wonderful. It has worked a few minor miracles for me.

Merry Christmas and be sure to update your URL for the IFHF site.

Linda Merle

New counties coming online in 2010

We are working towards making the records of Counties Laois, Offaly and Wexford available on the site in early 2010. You will be notified by email when these are available. Web Site name change - RootsIreland.ie

We have given the website a new domain name - www.RootsIreland.ie
This will hopefully help people find us more easily. Note that the old name www.brsGenealogy.com will continue to work, but will be phased out over time.. Happy Christmas

The Irish Family History Foundation would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We thank you for your continued support.

Please note that www.rootsireland.ie website will function as normal over the holiday period but there will be no support for e-mail from December 24th to January 3rd. All emails and queries will be answered in due course.
