Hi Cliff, I don't have any Johnstons, Irish or otherwise. I recommend Bell "Book of Ulster Surnames". Bell actually did real research in compiling the book! I have a client who has a Johnston appears to have been from Ireland. His DNA is not NW Irish.

Good luck,

Linda Merle

Subject: [S-I] Question for Linda

Linda,

Could you tell me, again, what the Irish name of your Johnston family was? I'm trying to compile a list of Irish families that "adopted" the Johnston surname.

Also, do you know of any others besides McShane?

Thanks,

Cliff. Johnston
