Yes, Thomas was the father of Alexander Campbell. They were called Campbellites derisively by those who did not agree with them. They believed in strictly "following the Bible in what it said and being silent where it was silent on things spiritual. Their movement grew into the churh of Christ, of which I am a member.

I did some research on these for the forthcoming Dictionary of Irish
Biography; interested to hear from any descendants? I won't be able
to access my file at work for a week or so, and can't remember for
sure, but I think Alexander's father was Thomas, and that Alexander
was born insouth Antrim
