I had a similar problem, but solved the problem !!
The 2 email addreses of 2 close friends were on my "Blocked Sender List" !!
I removed them from my blocked sender list, and solved the problem (
Tools/Message Rules/Bloicked Sender List/remove names in question).
Perhaps your problem is similar.
