Marilyn,

It took me ages to work out how to use this as well - it is the LDS !Pilot"
site. And it is a huge innovation as it has ALL Irish BMDS, thus making
many LDS films redundant. However, it IS a pilot and they take no
responsibility for problems at this stage.

Here is how to use it:
Put your ancestor's name into the front page (the one at the url below) and
hit Search withOUT trying to narrow it down. If you do, as you say, you
will get no-one!

It will call up zillions of names.

Now, use the filters at the top of this page to narrow down what you want -
the drop down menus called Place, Date, Collection etc....

Using this you can narrow it down to say, Deaths in Antrim in the
1860s......

You still need to searc through all Deaths in Antrim as it will not let you
look for a particualr Registration District - but that is okay - there wont
be that many and you can see say, "Ballymone Reg Dist" in the list and open
them.

One of the best sites ever for Irish Genealogy

David,
I put my ancestor, Joseph Milligan, in the searchbox for both Ireland, U.K.
and Ireland Ireland...and get not hits at all. Am I now doing something
wrong here? I put in dates 1816-1867 and there is nothing on this guy. I
would think the name is common enough so there'd be somebody with it!

Any ideas? I have used familysearch quite often before, but now I am coming
up empty.

Thanks
Marilyn
