As to scotch-irish men who were in the USA and fought for the American
Revolution my ancestors were
here by 1730s and several more of the extended families of scotch-irish
presbyterians were Patriots and
fought in the REV.War. These are well recorded and known ancestors of
Scotch-irish Americans.
When we were in NI and Ireland last May we met many who know and proud of
the FAct that we have 17 of American Presidents who were of
Scotch-Irish.. ancestry.......they do love Americans over there and know our
history of
fighting for freedom very well ...I have at least 8 ancestors who fought in
REV.War and many who fought in Civil War for the South.........all or most
were scotch-irish....
