James Webb quotes from a Hessian officer in his book, "Born Fighting," about the SI.
The officer wrote home during the American Revolution: "Call this war by whatever name
you wish, only call it not the American rebellion; it is nothing more or less than a
Scotch Irish Presbyterian rebellion." ( title page for Part Four: "The Spirit of a
