Hi folks,

Here's a free website with tutorials on palaeography (reading old handwriting) in the context of early modern Scottish historical documents. It focusses on sixteenth century and later Secretary Hand, the administrative/business 'shorthand' used throughout western Europe. As it says:
"Some Secretary Hand letters are characteristically different from the modern equivalents and must be memorised." I can attest to that!!! http://www.scottishhandwriting.com/ . One example:

Enjoy.
