The link below includes many Scotch-Irish names from the early 1700's in America. I'm also sending
it as a link to a resource that has great potential to help those of you who's ancestor appeared out of 'thin air" in the Midwest. This is from American Congress records on public land records.

Feb 12, 1827 is the date in Congress records, and the land in question is on the Ohio river border of Indiana. If you have family on this river from Pennsylvania to Illinois in the early 1800's then you should spend alot of time in this source. From 1780 and on,? it lays out the development of this land.
