Sue,

I think it's the Civil Records which you will find at your FHC. You will
also find there the Griffiths Valuation Revision Books which will show what
happened to the house which he held - did it pass to a relative, for
example. And, again at the FHC, you can order the 1901 census which will
show you if he, or any of his descendants were still there fifty years
later.
