Subject: [S-I] Arrivals at New Castle DE on the Eagle Wing
Date: Sun, 28 Jan 2007 21:19:20 -0500

I have seen information from some family histories that certain of their
antecedents arrived at New Castle, Delaware, aboard a vessel known as the
Eagle Wing, as follows:

James, Samuel and John Finley, brothers, and their families, arriving at
New Castle on 22 May 1722
John Caldwell, with wife and five children, of Lifford, and three
brothers-in-law, arriving on 10 Dec 1727.

I have also read in Ewing family history that some of that family arrived
on this vessel at about same time.

Does anyone know where this information comes from? Are there any primary
source records?
(I am familiar with the unsuccessful attempt by a group of Presbyterian
ministers from Ulster to reach New England in 1630's in a vessel of similar
name. This is different.)

Thanks -
