I have a Daniel Lightheart, Midland District. Unfortunately that is all the
information on him, no other people in his family. No-Lightburn, Lightbourn,
Lightbourne, Lightbaum
In 1796 the Midland District, earlier called the Mecklenburg District,
comprised Frontenac, Lennox, And Addington, and Prince Edward Counties, and
the southern part of Hastings County. In 1792 it also included a group of
islands in Lake Ontario nerar the St. Lawrence River which were called
Ontario County; this county was abolished in 1798 and is different from the
Ontario County which was created from York County in 1851. The southern
boundary of the Midland District was Lake Ontario; the Ottawa or Grand River
was the northern boundary. In 1792 Kingston became the district town of the
Midland District.
