A good resource for US genealogy is http://www.usgenweb.com/ . It had a page for each state and often that page has links to state resources. The Tennessee one is:

I found http://tennessee.gov/tsla/history/mailcnty.htm#Marriages that says
"
Marriages 1861-1944 can be found in the records of each county. There is no state-wide index to marriages during this time period. We can search for a marriage record if given the names of the groom and bride, county of marriage, and the date of the marriage or a 5-year date span. If the marriage occurred in one of the four metropolitan counties (Davidson County, Hamilton County, Knox County and Shelby County), a 3-year date span must be specified.
For the years 1945-1949, there is a year-by-year statewide index to Tennessee marriage records. The index is arranged by the name of the groom. A requst for a marriage record search for the years 1945 must include the name of the groom. TSLA will search a five year range in this index. The search request requies the name of the groom and the date of the marriage (or we will search the five year range 1945-1949); the name of the bride & the county of marriage are not required, but should be included if known. "
And so on. I would use the censuses at ancestry to see if you can find her under her maiden or married name in a TN county to get an idea when she got married.
You can then go to the county page. Davidson is here:

Then I checked LDS (www.familysearch.org). Davidson Co marriages are filmed:
Marriage records, 1789-1951; Licenses and bonds, 1789-1886; index, 1944- 1946 Davidson County (Tennessee). County Clerk You could order microfilm and check.
You could also subscribe to one of the lists and find someone who could look up the marriage for you or order it on line: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tndavids/nashgene.htm has a link.
But I'd try to use the censuses to narrow down her arrival and marriage. Have you checked the Ellis Island website for ship list??
Also if you check the SSI at www.rootsweb.com, you can print out a letter that you can mail off with a fee to get her SS application. This would identify her. More info here:

Since the application includes the full name of the person, their date and place of birth, the full name of their father and the full maiden name of their mother, plus their place of employment at the time the application was made, it can aid location and identification of past generations. "
This document would clearly tell you if this is your lady or not.
