Some of my ancestors who may have been 1718ers
who came to the east coast of Canada: William
McKEEN b. 1740 Londonderry, New Hampshire
Try looking at these websites below, Beverley. In
fact anybody interested in 1718 families should
look at some of these McKeenJoseph McKeen,
the first president of Bowdoin College
(1802-07)His father AND grandfather, John
and James, were among the first settlers of that
town, having come from the north of Ireland in
1718[Joseph] taught school for eight years
in Londonderry, except for a short period during
which he served under General Sullivan in the
American Revolution. In 1785, the year he married
Alice Anderson, McKeen moved to Beverly,
Massachusetts, where he served as the
Congregational minister until 1802
> I saw this E-Mail [above]. Do you know or know
>where I could find some information on this
>Alice Anderson who McKeen married in 1785.
Wish I could help, Judy!!
Try typing in "Alice Anderson" into Google with
quotation marks to narrow the search-you might
hook into somebody else's search on her.
Also search the new 1718 website and
'everything-1718-related'!! You will be amazed
what you get when you simply google "1718
Onene thing further. Here are the Andersons
mentioned in William Copeley, "Scotch-Irish
Settlers, 1719-1776," in Historical New
Hampshire, Vol. 50, No. 374, Fall/Winter 1995,
