For the Irish side you may want to contact the
Methodist Church in Ireland to find out if there are
any records for him. Here's the link:

The Irish Methodist community didn't become
independent from the Church of Ireland until the 1870s
and prior to that was part of the local Church of
Ireland (Anglican) Churches. There may be some
information in the Church of Ireland archives. The
