"I got WILSONs too back in the 1700s. Antrim to Western PA.
Married a John ANDERSON. There were six or sevn John A's in
Lancaster County, PA. Having discovered this my mother
gave up on genealogy!
I've been so concerned about my CARVIN ancestors (that nobody can ever find), that it never occured to me that they married other Scotch Irish? But your post triggered the thought. Thank you Linda.
I have a John Anderson too. I know nothing about him. His daughter Eleanor Anderson, circa 1760, Germantown, Pa. to 1850, Barnsboro, NJ, married John Tice. Their son Capt. Richard Howel Tice married Hannah Marie Ware of Sicklerville, NJ whose grandfather, John Ware, Sr. was born in Scotland in 1745.
Do these folks seem familiar to any of you?
I don't have a favorite story yet because I haven't been able to verify my grandfather's claim of being Scotch Irish.
