From "General Alphabetical Index TO THE TOWNLANDS AND TOWNS, PARISHES AND BARONIES OF IRELAND", based
on the 1851 census. Originally published 1861, reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Co, Baltimore, MD. ISBN: 0-8063-1052-

There is no "Gamesport" listed as either a Townland, Parish or Barony in the above text.

Groomsport is listed in the above, as a townland, and a town, both in civil parish of Bangor, Poor Law Union of Newtonards

There is a map of County Down, showing the location of Bangor at http://proni.nics.gov.uk/geogindx/down.htm
Unfortunately, the link to the map of the parish, showing the location of Groomsport within the parish, is broken
( http://proni.nics.gov.uk/geogindx/parishes/par048.htm )
