Hi folks,
According to this page I am reading.....
Henry SEFTON was born in County Antrim in 1779 and emigrated to
the USA. He settled in what has become Clinton TWP, Butler Co, PA.
It was already infested with lots of Scotch Irish -- such as my
own ancestors.
There he married Jane/Jennie QUIN, daughter of Edward and Jene
(Minime) Quinn of Middlesex Twp, Butler Co, PA. He walked to
Erie to fight with Admiral Perry in the War of 1812. He became
a township tax collector as well as farmer. He and wife are
buried in the Middlex Presbyterian Church Graveyard (church recs of
Butler Co are microfilmed and on fiche in LDS. Original -- large
book -- in the Butler County Library).
In the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical SOciety Quarterly,
Vol. 30, Number 1, summer 2003 (though just came), p
60 is "Bible of Henry Seften/Sefton of Butler Co, PA. It lists
their children and marriages of various folk.
Other surnames: Bicket, Thompson, Brewer, McKibben,
Purvis, Bell, Bryson, Logon, Cox.
The info was supplied by Jane Beck Jamison 424 Greenwood Drive,
in Greensburg, PA. 15601-1208 .
WPGS homepage: www.WPGS.org .
Disclaimers: I am not related to or researching this family.
I am posting it here to assist those who might be. If it is later
than Sept 28, 2003 I have forgotten making this post. I didn't
make any of it up though maybe Henry Sefton or his descendents did.
Now on to another exciting Saturday.
