Revd. Canon Fleming includes several Torrens in his book ' Armagh
Clergy, 1800-2000'
1. John Torrens. Eldest son of Rev Thomas Torrens ( son of Rev, John
Torrens, Rector of Ballinascreen) by his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel
Curry, by his wife Rhoda, daughter of John Harvey, of Malin Hall, Co
Donegal. He was born c. 1769 and married Mary daughter of Major
Samuel Ball , Grousehall, co. Donegal. Children (1) Rev Thomas Henry (2)
Robert (3) William (4) John (5) Elizabeth Grace (6) Henry (7) Catherine (
8) Amongst othere things, Rector of Heynestown.

2. John Torrens, son of James Torrens, commercial Clerk, Married ( 1878,
Dublin) Emily Palmer . Children included (1) Louise Palmer (2) Emily
Theodora . He was, amongst other things, Incumbent of Charlemont and died
1885.

3. Thomas Torrens , son of John Torrens, teacher . Born c. 1851, Co
Tipperary, married Annie Jane and died childless in 1937. Amongst other
things, Curate of Ballinderry.
