Hi Billy, have you checked IGI? It's not terribly good for Ireland,
but there's Agnes Straney, married 3 Mar 1788, presbyterian, in
Kircubbin, Down. The earliest ones are Stranie and they appear to
be English. Or in England. But in the 1600's you got them in England.
I don't find the surname in my English surname book (Reany and
Wilson) but then some of mine are not in it.
This might be old news.... There's some in Scotland too, but
those seem to be in the 1800's.
