An article in "Memorials of the Dead in Ireland" mentions the names of the
people buried in the "New Cemetery, between Ballymena town and Kilconriola
(Kirkinriola)". This is now called the Kirkinriola Parish graveyard. It
mentions that the stones are chiefly modern - from 1780 onwards. Names are
practically all Lowland Scots introduced into the district by the Adairs of
Kinhilt, lords of the soil since the middle of the seventeenth century. The
names are chiefly:-Beatty, Caruth, Pettigrew, KERNOHAN, Gordon, Gilmor,
Compton, Crawford, Eaton, Adair. Can anyone tell me where this graveyard is
located in relation to Ballymena?
