Hi folks, I got a catalog from Irish Books and Media:
www.irishbook.com (click on Spring catalog, they say).
It has some intersting stuff, even for ourselves <grin>.
It has a book on a topic we have discussed here a lot: the
"untold story" (well, not on the Scotch Irish list) of the
ethnic cleansing of 50,000 Irish transported to Barbados and
Virginia by Cromwell. Many of these folk are confounded with
the "Scotch Irish" -- some of them were Ulster Protestants,
caught up in the fray.
It is "To Hell or Barbados: The Ethnic Cleansing of Ireland" By
Sean O'Callaghan. Apparently he did research in Barbados on
the Irish slaves. ISBN: 0-86322-272-2
It has joke books: "Scotland is not for the Squeamish" by Bill
Watkins.
Also Kyle Betit and Dwight Radford's book "Discovering your Irish
Ancestors" . And "An Introduction to Irish Ancestry" by Sean E
Quinn . A Directory of Irish Archives. "The O'Neills of County
Cork and their Descendents from 1666-1998" by Germaine C Grady.
Normally you associate O'Neills with Conn's half of Ireland,
so this book I find intriging. Includes a line in Newfoundland.
Alas, I fear I will be spending my money on shelf paper lining
and light bulbs for the very near future.
(Almost packed up. Van comes tomorrow. Realtor on the way over with
an OFFER. There is a god! $10.00??.... SOLD!!!)
