Legacy Family Tree is giving away its 3.0 program. (I have no interest in
this company, but I do have the program.) Their reasons are purely
commercial -- they have come out with a Deluxe edition, and hope new users
who get the free program will then be so pleased they will pay for the
update. It is an excellent program; the technical support and constant
free user-driven updates between major revisions are a big plus. There is
also an online users group which offers additional help. If you are
