Thanks for all the clues.

The only added ifo I was able to elicit was:

ROBERT STINSON
In 1875 living in the Town of Boylston, Oswego County, New York
Age 40
Born in Ireland - arrived in Oswego County through Canada
Farmer
Married Alvina ???

Robert did serve in the Civil War and I have recommended obtaining a
copy of service/pension records from National Archives.

Also suggested a look at the actual New York State Census Films for 1865
and 1875 in hopes of finding anything else. Above info came from a very
brief printed extract of 1875 NYS Census.
