I corresponded with an ANDERSON researcher from Australia who mentioned
that her mother spoke of a place in either Antrim or Derry named
Andersontown, named that for all of the Andersons there. I think I have
tracked my g. grandfather (James Anderson) to Magherafelt, Derry, and my
thinking was that Andersontown was in Derry, but I am reading Angela's
Ashes, and the author mentions Andersontown in the first few pages
seemingly setting it just outside Belfast. My question is... Does
anyone have anything more specific on Andersontown. I have checked
three years of archives and cannot find traces there. I do not think
Andersontown is an actual name of a place, but rather an informal
nickname for a place.
