Hi folks,
I am forwarding this post from on the
NORTHUMBRIA-L list regarding her study of this surname. There were
a number of Walkinshaws in the early Scots/Ulster Scots community in
Western PA. I seem to recall seeing them in the Covenantor surnames for
Bull Creek.
Please, do not reply to me regarding this post but to Jeanette -- below.
Thanks,
Linda Merle
Hi Listers,
This is my first posting to the list.
My name is Jeanette BRUNLEES nee WALKINSHAW. I was born in Edinburgh but now
resident in Cheshire, England.
I am Currently undertaking a One-Name Study registered with The Guild of
One-Name Studies for the name WALKINSHAW and all of its variants World-wide.
The main variant for Northumbria is WAKENSHAW. I try also to find descendants
of WALKINSHAW'S thought the female lines where the name has changed as result
of marriage.
If anyone on the list can help me expand my research for WAKENSHAW I would be
very grateful.
I will search my database for anyone who thinks that they have a connection
and supply that information for them. I currently have approx. 13,500 names
in my database.
Regards to All,
Jeanette
