Hello...I would be interested in that as well. Two of my Reed ladies married
Campbells in NC around that time frame. I have
1) Mary Reed .........(b.29 Jul 1782 , NC).. married Andrew Campbell
2) Margaret "Polly" (b.18 Apr 1784, NC)...married John P. Campbell
Both were daughters of John Reed and Margaret Carson who were married in
Guilford Co NC 5 March, 1779. One of their sons was Rev Carson Pate Reed(my
3rd great grandfather).
This Reed family were middle class Scotch-Irish ...some were lawyers and
Oxford scholars according to an unpublished family monograph and raised
blooded horses that they were very fond of...(we still have our share of
'horsey' people).
In this generation of children were 2 preachers, at least one lawyer and at
least one doctor...the others were planters...my Rev Carson Pate Reed was
both. The Reed family removed to Giles Co TN in 1809...except for the two
ladies married to Campbells.
Does this sound familiar to anyone ?
