Hi folks,

Well, here's what I'vve been doing. I "met" a couple distant cousins, all of
us researching the line of John Anderson/Elizabeth Wilson, who arrived in the
USA (to be) from Antrim around 1765. Only one line retained any knowledge
of their origins. That's their son Robert Anderson. His descendents inherited
the family history. We (Frances Anderson's descendents) apparently had a
disagreement over John's estate, which is probably how we "fell out" of the
family tree. Maybe 40 years ago one Lois Anderson, a Robert Anderson
descendent, began doing research on her line. Lois was a writer of many letters.
She traced her family ALL OVER the USA. She didn't hit a lot of libraries, alas,
but who is perfect? She wrote to everyone, and visited many all over the USA.

Some years after Lois died, after she privately published her work, my mother
made contact with her sister and purchased one of the last remaining copies.
I spent my vacation typing this work in to PAF. It took a whole durn week.
I finally got "Phase two" on the internet and started a list so that the descendents
can discuss. I just found a cousin living in Western PA still. Apparently my
mother went to church with her parents in the 1950's at the Parnasus Presbyterian church. She assumed then there was a relation (all these Andersons look alike) but wasn't interested then in pursuing it. Well, now we
know they were Frances Andersons too! I also found a cousin in North
Carolina on the Robert Anderson line -- Patrick McCool. So we have about 3
researchers.

Everyone should check the surnames section to see if they are related. Lois,
bless her heart, did a fantastic job of tracing Robert Andersons. There are
over 800 people from all over the USA with many surnames. Frances's line
remains to be fleshed out, as do the others. The Borlands, William, James,
and George, as well as the Hunters.

Oh, here's the URL:

If you find any bugs, let me know. I suppose I should announce it to rootsweb
and the roots-l list. Near as I can tell, Lois never deposited her work in LDS,
or the Western PA genealogical Society. So this is very obscure stuff, here.
Our line (Frances A) is not in LDS either. And if you appear to be related and
want to help flesh out our line, join the list! (Directions on webpage).

Now onto my other projects <grin>.
