Linda,
Mac McCutchan recommended that I ask you if you still have lists of
passengers that came to Boston in early 1700's. I'm looking for a Samuel
Elder who was married to Mary Huston in Ireland. They had two of their
children in Ireland, 1725 & 1727, and the next two were born in Falmouth,
ME. in 1731 &1735. On a deed, dated 1729, it says Samuel Elder of BOSTON,
etc. I've been looking for them in Falmouth all this time, so now I think
maybe I could locate the HUSTONs and ELDERs in Boston first.
Years later, many HUSTONs and HUSTUSes resided in Lowell, but most from our
line, WM. HUSTON b. 1675 moved up to Maine.
What records still exist for ports along the Mass. and Maine coast? Did
Falmouth keep passenger records? I only know the families came from Co.
Antrim. No mention of parish or town was ever found.
Thank you for your time, effort and advice.
Carol in Florida
