Am currently reading 'The Scottish Migration to Ulster in the Reign of
James I' , by M. Perceval-Maxwell, and Cyril Falls, 'The Birth of
Ulster'. One of the phrases used, is 'beyond the pale' and simply the
'pale'. I have heard this phrase before and it's whizzed by me, but
now I would like to know. Can someone tell me please?
