The LEWIS / LOUIS family was originally Flemish and emigrated to
Northern Ireland where John Lewis did kill his landlord just after the
Landlord had killed John's brother. They left Ireland.Avenging his
brother was acceptable in most circles but not in the offical circle.
John Lewis's wife wrote a Journal of their life which is
fasinating. You can get it on line By searching for "Augusta County
