Malinda: I saw your letter on WM Martin and Wylies. Just yesterday I
received some information from the Chester County S.C. Genealogical
Society...they sent their Dec. 1998 bulletin with the material..There is an
article entitled Another Chester Couty Martin Family..which gives the
history of a James Martin md to Mary Graham Martin , he was born in Drumaull
Co Down, she in Co Armaugh. A SaraH Martin (dghter) md a Duncan Wylie and
it gives their children.
The heading of the article by Lcdr Mark B. Guevarra, says there were
several Martin families residing in Chester County during the 18th and 19th
Centuries. Presumably all of Scotch-Irish origin, any relation between the
families is today unknown. One in particular was located in the Richburg
township of Chester county and among its descendants were members of the
Union Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

The article is comphrehensive covering pages 137-146 with sources .
The address for the Chester District Genealogical Society is P.O. Box 336
Richburg
S.C. 29729.
