Hello everybody. I have been looking for my grandmother's family for
about 25 years and finally got some solid clues. My ggrandfather was
Alexander Drummond. His father was Robert Drummond who was born in
Ireland in 1803. I've been able to trace the family back to the
immigrant, Alexander Drummond, who came to Boston in the 1720s and
removed to Maine in 1729. Alexander was from "Cappa," Ireland (probably
Cappagh, so I've learned). I've learned that it was common for Scottish
born families to come to Ulster in the 1600s and early 1700s, then on to
the American colonies. Even more interesting, it appears that his
descendants went back to Ireland for a generation or two, perhaps to
escape the turmoil of the Revolution. Where should I proceed from here?
Thanks,
Russell Alexander Dorr
