I am seeking information ship and geographical information about brothers
Christopher and George BUCHANAN who reportedly came from Donegal with parents
and 2 other families--the ROBINSONS and DONLEYS. Christopher was the the
older brother, born about 1764. They were supposed to have landed at
Philadelphia 18 June 1790 from the brig St. James or William. They were
believed to be in Lancaster Co, PA, then Washington Co, PA, and then Fayette
Co, PA. They were Presbyterians.
Do the names ring true for Donegal area? I have struck out so far with ship
lists into Philadelphia or ships by the names of St. James or William. Any
direction would be appreciated.
Best wishes,
Linda L. Antram Smit
