Hi Linda
Thankyou for answering my queery. Your letter is very informative. I
had no idea that people went back and forth so often and for so many
reasons. So I guess it's possible that before my ggrandfather actually
emmigrated that he had been over to Scotland at one time or another and
had an idea of what he was going to or maybe had family there already.
This is very enlightening. I will check out my map for these ports and
