Might I add to Linda's excellent suggestions? Rootsweb has a *wonderful*
resource called the Roots Surname List. You can even post your names on
the web now -- Your surname line goes something like this: SURNAME,
first known date, last known date, places you know of surname, your
nametag.

I have gotten in touch with numerous cousins by means of the RSL, which
is kept current. MUCH more effective than any 'roll call' could possibly
be!

In fact, if you're a sponsor of Rootsweb, you can be automatically
notified when one of your surnames is listed in the RSL. To join
Rootsweb, send your check ($12.00 member or $24.00 sponsor) to:

Rootsweb Genealogical Data Cooperative

or point your browser to:

Rootsweb serves about 300,000 Genealogists with county pages, discussion
lists, archives & searches!

Best genealogical money you can spend!
